Names that make me twitch

Between work and my sons daycare a few names that I see on a daily basis that make me twitch.

Windy ........ never heard it pronounced in person, only seen it in emails from client at work, so not sure if it's supposed to be a take on Wendy or they decided their kid was full of hot air.
Ashely ... a girl at my sons daycare... and yes, they pronounce it Ash-el-ee, "Ashel" for short.
And then there is just mutilating the spelling of Haley into Hailie.

I've heard Windy before, too. I kind of like it. It's along the same lines as Stormy. I wouldn't use it on a human, though. I think it might be used in the United States of Tara opening song, "it's windy and her family needs a ride".

Out of curiosity I went to check the popularity graph for Windy.

Enters the name chart in 1967 (year of the song), peaks in 1975 at #553, out of the top 1000 in 1981.

Ashely is just going to be the most annoying thing throughout that girl's life. People will ALWAYS assume it's "Ashley", will never hear it right, and will spell it wrong. If I were her I wouldn't go by "Ashel" (which is a bit weird) but try for Ash.

My name is Ashley, and people constantly misspell my name as Ashely. It's a huge pet peeve of mine. I can't imagine anyone naming their kid that on purpose!

I know two Windy's. One is 35ish and one is 50ish. Thar are definitely Windy, NOT Wendy. I made the mistake of calling one Wendy once!
