Mika is cute, possibly too cute. Lyric is interesting, I don't think I'd like it on an actual human being but I'd love it on a character for something.
I really want to like the name Mika but I have trouble doing so, I think because it doesn't sound terribly professional. Unless the profession is a dancer. I think it would be super cute on a little girl, though. Also it reminds me of that racoon Miko from some Disney movie... hmm... pocahontas?
I really honestly love Lyric, but it seems as though the only time you hear people name their kids this, it comes from some pretentious, deluded, un-talented musician that thinks they're being clever.
I read Mika as a creatively/improperly spelled version of Micah, and I automatically pronounce it as Micah, not Mee-kah. Not a fan, and I think it guarantees pronunciation problems, if that bothers you.
Lyric? Eh, its ok. Although, in the genre of uber trendy noun names I much prefer Fable and Story.
I want to like Mika--maybe as a nickname for a longer name, because it doesn't seem like it would work well on an adult woman--but my roommate's cat is named Meeka, so I have a hard time seeing it on a human.
Lyric I could take or leave. It's not a name I'd use, but it's not one I strongly dislike, either.
I really like Mika, although I pronounce it like Micah, as someone else already said. Can't say I'm much of a fan of Lyric though. I hate it when people say certain names sound pretentious, but I have to admit, Lyric is one that I would call exactly that. It just doesn't sound like a name, and I'm a fan of many noun/virtue/whatnot names.
I dislike Mika (or anything with the EEK sound in it) but Lyric could be nice. I knew a little girl with the name and I always loved it on her. Her mom always said if she had three kids they would be Lyric, Harmony and Rhapsody. Music was a huge passion for her obviously. She went on to change her mind. Lyric is her only musically named child. And I think that makes it stand out and makes it that much more special.
Mika is okay, but as others have said, it seems a bit like it should be a nn. Also, there is a male pop singer by the name.
Lyric is kind of a guilty pleasure name for me. I think it is really pretty and I like the musical meaning, but it isn't very professional and I don't think many girls could pull it off.
I think Mika comes off more as being a nn than a full name. I really like Lyric though. I heard it the first time last summer when a coworker and I were talking about names we liked. Lyric is actually one of the reasons she gave her fiancee a chance. They were at a mutual friends party and talking about baby names and he said that he liked a weird name which turned out to be Lyric. She'd been secretly in love with it since she was little and called all her dolls that. I liked the name but that sort of sealed it's awesomeness for me. It's a very pretty name!
I named my lady cat Mika. Ever since I saw Serial Experiments: Lain I wanted to use that name. I know pets and babies aren't technically the same thing, but l beg to differ.
I have wondered if I would call a baby girl Mika, and the conclusion always is, "Why not?" Although, for a while, people will go, "Oh, like the singer?"
I like them both. I like Lyric a lot, but I think it is a name that could "own" the person so make sure she is really a Lyric. An x neighbor had a daughter named Lyric and it definately fit her. She was 8 and had a fro. I don't think the family was very musically minded. Another option would be Lyra.
I once met a woman who had named her daughter Lyric, and she went ON AND ON about how freaking genius and beautiful and musical and completely totally amazingly awesome her daughter's name was, so now when I see it I think... NO.

As for Lyric, I'm sorry, I don't like it.
