I'm planning a new book and I need a name for my main character.

I've been toying with Corinne because it seems like the perfect name for her, however, she's supposed to go by a nickname and I was thinking maybe something flowery or nature-y. Are there any short flowery names that can somehow come out of Corinne or any other names in the same category as Corinne that have flowery names she can go by?
The point with a name like Corinne is that even though I like it, it might be considered by some to be boring and old (my best friend says this) so my MC will have the same dislike for the name and that is the reason she will go by the nickname instead.

Suggestions, please?

I could see Coral as a nickname for Corinne - not flowery, but nature-y for sure. But that might still be a little too old fashioned sounding of a name as well.

Wren? If it's pronounced like I think it is.

My mother always called me Rosie when I was a kid, which is nothing to do with my name.

You can generally justify something like that.

If you're after different names that are flower related, check out Poppy Montgomery's sister's names.

In their family there's Poppy Petal, Rosie Thorn, Marigold Sun, Daisy Yellow and Lily Belle. (and the brother Jethro Tull. No idea what her parent were on when they named their kids!)

I like Corinne too. It's my middle name and it was my late Grandmothers name. :)

I don't have any suggestions on what to name your MC, best of luck though!

My favourite nickname for Corinne is Corrie but it's not exactly flowery. I love Corinne though--it's totally not old and boring--and I second the middle name suggestion. Some flowery names off the top of my head are Violet, Hyacinth, Azalea, Petunia maybe... and my list isn't as big as I though it might be, ha.
