[identity profile] ladydreamfire.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So I played around with the new list of boy names until I had names that if my husband LOVED one I would LOVE it too so I wouldn't feel like I had settled for something I was only lukewarm on. Today I went over those names with him. In the end only one name from each list (old and new) survived. So now my name list looks like this:

Henrik Wolfgang Gibbons (I had a different middle, but he came up with this one (again) and you know what? I actually love it a lot!)
Gabriel Beauregard Gibbons (I've been debating the middle, but I've had it there so long everything else feels wrong..you know?)
Elsa Fleur Gibbons
Gemma Hermione Gibbons

My husband is like horny over Henrik Wolfgang, and really loves Gabriel so I'm confident either choice will make us both happy.

I'm not going to force a choice between the boy names, if I have a boy I can always decide at the hospital if we just can't pick beforehand. If I have a girl, Elsa Fleur all the way.  I could use another girl name on this list, but it's only important if I'm having twin girls. When I actually get pregnant that is. Gosh, I hope it's not a long wait! We just started and I'm anxious already! I don't know how some of you maintain patience.

A big huge THANK YOU for all your input and advice. It really did help a lot, even if it was just something for me to keep in mind. Like how southern Beauregard is. And how teaseable Wolfgang could be. Those are both middle names so we should be good to go!

I will admit though, I'm sort of in mourning over Theodore Ambrose. Sighing @ democracy. I hope one of you will use it, or maybe I can become that really aggravating mother who tells her kids what to name their babies instead of what they actually want.  :P

Edited to add: You Gemma Hermione fans were totally right and I put Gemma Hermione back on the list. After [livejournal.com profile] hermione_vader brought it up again (and was backed up by [livejournal.com profile] ninjanette)  I discussed it with my husband and decided that if it came down to having two girls I really wanted one to be Gemma. He doesn't give me grief about girl names, just the boys. As far as I'm concerned if my brother still wants to use Emma someday, he's free too. We'll find a way to differentiate. I love calling my kids by their wholes names anyhow. ;-)

If you need a second girl name for twins, Gemma Hermione was awesome.

I agree! I was sad to not this see one on here. I do love all of the names you've ended up with though (to the OP)

I love all of those names! I especially have a soft spot for Henrik Wolfgang; Henrik is my step-dad's name, and it's very uncommon in the states (not sure if that's where you are located) but I think it's a strong, distinguished name!

How would you have difficulty differentiating between Gemma and Emma?
