I was just watching some Diagnosis Murder [hopeless fangirl despite the cheese XD] and one of the guest stars spelled her name Khrystyne. It actually took me pausing it and a few seconds to 'translate' it if you will. What do you think? I personally hate random Ys instead of Is and I'd be tempted to say Chri-stein XD That being said I really like Christine as a name, just not that spelling.

Yeah, I hate random y's too. And I don't like k's much either. Khrystyne is awful! The only time I think the K would be acceptable is if the person were very very Greek. But even then, I don't think they have all the y's? idk. Christine is pretty.

I am already not a huge fan of Chris- names... so this really hurts my eyes on so many levels. It looks like some kind of exotic Russian spelling and it's a bit much. (I just looked her up and saw she's Lebanese and Czech so many it's some kind of Eastern variation? I think Khristine is the anglicized Russian spelling.)

That's...wow. I think it would take me a minute to figure out that it was Khrystyne if I just saw it written down. There was a girl in my high school concert band who spelled her name Krystynna, and whenever I saw it on her folder, I'd think, "What? Oh, Christina."

As a "Krysta" I feel like my eyes are kind of trained to read these kinds of names. I have seen so many different spellings of my name and of similar names (Krystal, Kristen, Kristine, etc.) that it doesn't faze me anymore. I read "Christine" right away.

Ks and Ys are probably my two least favorite letters in a name (at least when they're randomly thrown in a name), so this is terrible.

Kristine I'm ok with, Khrystyne I'm not. What's wrong with a few vowels, anyway?

Reminds me of Dentyne. http://www.dentyne.com/ Not good.

Otherwise, I want to pronounce the "yne" with a long I.

Another DM fan? Awesome! Where do you manage to watch the show?

Here I thought crazy spellings were modern, but apparently they were around 20 or more years ago. I do like Christine as a name though I wouldn't use it on my child, but that spelling...whoa.

I went to HS with a Khrystynne who pronounced it "Christina". Her parents weren't foreign, just silly. She hated it.

haha, when i was younger, i swore up and down i would legally change my name to that spelling because it was "cooler" than boring old christine. thankfully, thirteen year olds are not granted that power ;)
