Jan. 9th, 2012 10:07 pmA high school friend who now lives in Australia had a baby last week, a little boy named Ryder James. Her name is Krisy and her husband is Anthony.
I was going through some friend suggestions on FB, and remembered that we went to school with a girl named Kindrie. I've never seen it before, or since, but I THINK it might have been her mother's maiden name (family is Scottish/Irish). I think it's kind of cute but I don't think it will age well.
I also looked up the names of all the kids from the lawyers at my last job... The one that stood out the most was 16 year old twins Emma and Emily. They have a younger sister named Rebecca, but COME ON. Em and Em???
Some others:
Maeva - mother is Marie-Pierre
Evangelo, Lucas - mother is Tania, father has a very Greek name that I can't remember right now...
Benjamin, Elyanne - Marie-Pier and Christophe
Mirka (f), Slavek (m) - Claire (Czech) and Paul
Sacha (m) - Lev (Russian) and Julie
Kasara Emma, Ashley - Marie-Gerard and Napoleon
Oscar - Pierre-Paul and Celine
Zachary, Zara Alexis - mother is Naya
Jeff Anthony, Loriane - Dolores and Robert
Hugo Olivier - Nancy and Patrick
Charles, Amelie - Mario and Stephanie
Elizabeth - Karine and Sylvain
Médérique, Alexanne - Isabelle and Francois
Anders, Anika, Anton (not triplets) - Marc and Elin (Swedish)
Jessy (m), Kim - Michel and Laura

There were 2 girls that I worked with named Genevieve, so one of them went by her middle name, Alexandrine.

Date: 2012-01-10 04:20 am (UTC)Sound-wise I like Ryder but it's going to be a lot of jokes. There was a Ryder on Jersey Shore and she was the butt of a lot of jokes "everyone's had a chance to Ryder" and "ryder all night". I suppose being a boy helps that somewhat but it could just be a command.
I agree w/ you on the Kindrie- it's cute and I think it would be awesome on a preschooler or something but it doesn't sound professional.
I can't even imagine naming twins Emma and Emily. Aside from the lack of individuality possibly affecting their self-image, it would just be confusing. I wouldn't trust when people just said Emma, I'd have to be like "Emma, right? Not Emi-ly?"
Did Alexandrine go by her full name or Alex? I like the full one but that's a mouthful.
