I had my second son on December 7th, 2011. We hadn't figured out a name for him until December 6th, when we finally decided.

Our first son is named Logan William, William after my husband's maternal grandfather. Our newest edition is named Lincoln Frederick, Frederick after my maternal grandfather.

I have to say though, I kind of love how we ended up naming both our sons with names that started off as surnames.

We didn't realize what was happening with the name Logan when we named him. If I had of known that it was going to be such a popular/abused name, I would have reconsidered. (by abused, I mean used as a girl's name and often misspelled.)

Logan as a girl's name has never been odd to me because I knew a girl and a boy named Logan when I was younger. But the misspellings (of almost every popular name) are hilarious to me. And Logan was one of those names that surprisingly surged in popularity but it's still nice and not too overused.

I'm a fan of boys "reclaiming" names, like Ashley, Shannon, Morgan etc.

Cute names! All three of my sons have surnames as first names, too. I didn't even think of it before they were named, but I guess that's what appeals to me.

Yea. It's kind of annoying because there are people that will stop me and ask me about my son, and when I tell them his name is Logan, a typical response is "Oh, my (insert female relative here) is named Logan. I've only ever thought of Logan as a boy name.

Wow, I didn't know Logan was so popular! I have yet to meet a second Logan in my life. I don't fancy it much for a girl's name.

iExpanding have only ever met one other person named Logan, and it was a boy around my son's age.
