[identity profile] versus-science.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Hello! I'm sixteen and I love baby names (and babies, of course). I just want everyone's opinion on this one name I'm fixed on.

So, I have a boyfriend of almost two years now. We're not planning on having a baby anytime soon, but of course we sometimes discuss baby names because we plan on spending our lives together. :) My full name is Samantha Michelle Christina Fritsky, and one day I was playing around with my name. I always said if my first name was Michelle, I would go by Ellie. So then I came up with the name Ellie Christina. Ever since then, my mind has been SET on naming my first girl that. Also, when I was little I thought the name Elliott was a girls name so I sort of like that too. Ellie Christina or Elliott Christina. Does anyone like either names?

My boyfriend really likes the name Jaqlin for a girl, but I like the name Jackie and that's it. Just Jackie, not short for anything. I also love the names Chloe, Jane and Charlotte, and my boyfriend doesn't like any of those. But he likes the name Skylie, which is pretty cute, and Lilian (which I would call her Lily).

I'm not too fond of boy names. I like Paris, River, Logan, Noah, Isaac and Lennon, and my boyfriend likes the names Link and Willow. I think it's safe to say I will NEVER name my son Link or Willow. Never, ever, ever.

So, what does everyone think of these names? Your opinions are going to come in handy someday, after all. :)

I like the name Ellie, but would try to make it a nickname for something, except that I can't think of anything offhand that it could be a nickname for. Though like you said, I guess it could work for Michelle. I think Ellie Christine or Ellie Christina sounds nice. I definitely don't like Elliot for a girl though, but think it's alright for a boy. And the other names you mentioned... I like Chloe and Lilian (or Lillian). As for your boy names... I definitely see Paris as a girl name (you know, the whole Paris Hilton thing), but I don't particularly like it either way. I have NO boy names picked out personally, as I'm set on having all girls, lol. The only boy name I have picked out is Patrick, but three of my best girl friends have also had that name picked out forever (like, before we even knew each other, we each had that name picked). So, I think whoever out of us has a baby boy first gets to use it, lol

I grew up thinking Elliott was a boys name, but I keep seeing it here as a girl's name, so I'm warming up to it as a girl's name and think it's a good choice. I like the nickname Ellie too, so your daughter could be Elliott but you call her Ellie.
Noah is a cute name for a boy, and I agree about not naming a boy Link or Willow!

I am also 16 and (not pregnant). I love names and sometimes my boyfriend (of 2 1/2 years) will talk about it with me. The other day my mom gave me the Baby Names book that she used to pick out my name. My boyfriend and I were looking through it and we both like the name Natalie for a girl. I just thought it was cool that we have similar situations.

My girlfriend suggested Jane for our baby. From your girls names, I really like Christina (on its own), Charlotte and Lily. I don't like the name Ellie but that's just me. From your boy's names I like Paris.

hehe! I like the name Jackie but because I am one. Except the spelling of my name is Jacky.....my real name is spelled Jackeline. It's different and I actually didn't know how to spell Jacqueline(?) the way everyone else does until a few years back....and I am 26 ;P

I like the name Ellie and Ella. I know Ella isn't on your list but I thought of that name too when you said Ellie. =) I also like Skylie, chloe, Lilian and charlotte. Okay I know that doesn't narrow it down.

for boys I like Elliot, River and Logan. Eh I also like Noah and Isaac. =) I was actually going to have my son's middle name as River but it didn't run smoothly enough with his name....Draven.

girl name

Elle is beautiful! They could call her Ellie but when she's older, Elle is so sophisicated.

I definetly like Elle. I know so many Ellie's i dont like it so much. I like Lily & Chloe but in England Chloe is soooo popular, i think its been at the top for a good few years now. Noah is my favourite out of your list for boys, its adorable :-)

I didn't realize Ella has become common. But yeah totally like Elle(Ellie) =)

We ended up choosing Draven Alexavier. So later on if he doesn't like Draven he can go by alex or xavier.....not pronounced like Javier but Xavier. lol The husband and I went rounds about the pronounciation of it. But I think he will stick with Draven.

LMAO! Moon Unit....I'm going to tell my husband tonight that we HAVE to name our soon to be daughter that and there will be no more disscussions about any more girls names......just to freak him out. ;P

I like Elle but it means "She" in french and I find that a bit weird to be called "She", just my thoughts on that

I have already planned on naming my first daughter Elliott (middle name Noah?)

I know they're both boys names...but I love them for a girl! Or a guy for that matter!

I don't mind 3 names, as long as they sound good together. My bro has 3 names - Christopher Matthew Craig

If I did a 3rd name, it would be either my mother's maiden name (Craig - as in my bro's 3rd name), my Grandmother's maiden name (corrigan) or whatever my future husbands mothers maiden name was....etc...you know what i mean!
