Sibset: Rylei and Brynlei

Now why would you go and butcher two perfectly good names, subjecting your poor daughters to a life of name-squinting and ridicule? That's not offbeat, that's just plain unkind. IMO, anyway.

aside from the obvious spelling issues, why would they name them so similarly?

I do not understand why people think that -ei ending is cute. It looks really wrong.

I don't understand why people keep doing that! ei doesn't make the long E sound. It makes a long A sound. (see here for questions (http://usefulenglish.ru/phonetics/english-vowel-sounds)). My friend has a little girl named Marlei and pronounces it Marly. Ugh.

Slightly off topic, some random guy in target heard my sister and I discussing how hard naming a child was and some random guy butted in and said, "It's not hard to name a kid! You can name a kid Ralph and spell it like Mary if you want!" NO YOU CANNOT!!!

Oh holy crap. That is the worst spelling of Riley I have ever seen! I mean, I personally think Riley is a horrible name to begin with, but "Rylei" just looks trashy. And doesn't age past about four or five. Can you imagine a 45 year old woman telling coworkers how to spell her ghastly name? Ugh--don't even get me started on Brynlei.
