I hate when people spell a kids name all jacked up to be original, because it's not, it's just silly imho.

No, I know it was with an E, but I was saying that it's said like Alek, which in that case, it's stupid. It's stupid even if it's not. I don't get why people purposely misspell their children's names. Nobody will ever pronounce them right and I'm pretty sure every teacher will think 'WTF were your parents thinking kid?!' I know I'd think that!

Lol I have a relative who is a teacher and she said quite often she meets parents and suddenly everything about the kid makes sense. I think this name probably just takes the guess work out of it - you don't even *need* to meet the parents to know they're insane!

I feel like if you're going to misspell a name then you should not put extra punctuation in it (') and you pronounce it how you spell it.

I wouldn't mind the made up name of Elexander, or Elexander, or Elekander. But when you put the punctuation in it and pronounce it as if it has an A that is irritating. I just would like if people made up names to stick with how they're supposed to be said phonetically.
