Aug. 7th, 2006 09:57 pmI work at an elementary school and today I came across these names, which I thought were odd, either for their sex, for the time they were born, or just in general. All of these names are of kids between 5 and 11, so they're rather recent names.
- bolded names are ones I like.
Cornelius (m)
Isaiah x4 (m) - note: This is on here because I had no idea it was this popular, not because I think it's a weird name (I don't). It was the most popular boys name that wasn't Michael/Matthew/Nathaniel/Nathan, and I thought it was a little weird that it was that popular.
Melvin (m)
Yamaly (f)
Shalet (f)
Israel (m)
Kiaraliz (f)
Dytalion (m)
McKala (f)
Skye (f)
Kaijah (I don't know the kid, so I'm not sure which gender)
Rinna (f)
Dayshia (f)
Tajae (m)
Travez (m)
I also found these sib sets that I thought went well together without being too matchy.
Evan (m) and Jordan (m)
Matthew (m) and Isabella (f)
Colin (m) and Liam (m)
I don't really like Evan or Colin that much, and I like Jordan as a girls' name, not as a boys'. But otherwise I like these combos a lot, especially Colin and Liam.

I don't like the spelling of Travis as Travez. Just NMS.

Date: 2006-08-08 03:14 am (UTC)Isaiah - it's probably a bit of an anomoly to see four in one group like that, but yeah, it's a definitely chart climber. I know two and I really don't know very many kids.
Skye - I love but I much prefer it without the E on the end.
Tajae - I lik ethis one.

Date: 2006-08-08 11:48 pm (UTC)My cousin was going to name her son Isaiah. Luckily she picked Conner instead. I don't like Isaiah at all. It just looks like gibberish.
Ew, Skye, really? Ick.
