An acquaintance just had a baby girl: Mikaela Michelle.

Mikaela joins big siblings Erik Joshua, James "Jimmy" William, and Kaitlin "Katy" Marie.

I'm sorta disappointed that she went with a "trendy" spelling this time around.

I like Mikaela Michelle as a name but something feels off about it (not counting the "trendy" spelling of Mikaela). I really like the names of the siblings.

Well, I guess Mikaela is closer to the original Michaela than some spellings. I especially hate Makayla, it's like a first grader tried to spell it.

That's probably what's throwing me off. That and the names sound a little too matchy for my taste.

Erik and Kaitlin aren't trendy spellings? My Husband's name is James. I don't really like any of them. :(

I don't really see Mikaela as a trendy spelling, probably because Mikael is a normal spelling of Michael in Norway. Same with Erik actually. Honestly it could be so much worse. I quite like the whole set :)

I was thinking the same thing - they are both traditionally spelled with Cs.
