Yeah Spike and Mike are too similar, and also it's a terrible name unless you have a chihuhua (used ironically) or a Rottweiler.

I knew a girl who said her real first name was Spike, which is not what she was usually called. (She said her parents were ticked off when they named her.)
In retrospect she may have been pulling my head...in fact, i hope she was. Oy.
