My name is Emilie and I got "Milly" as a nickname as a kid. To the point when people actually thought it was my given name and were asking me to spell it. Oddly enough when I moved in English speaking areas and my name started getting pronounced in English, the "Milly" got dropped and now everybody calls me Em.

I looove the name Millie but could never find a "full" name that I loved enough to use. I suppose you could just use Millie/Milly but, for some reason, I feel like it needs a longer name. Sorry I can't help.

Millicent, to me, sounds like a Disney character - probably a small animal. That's why I ended up crossing it off my list :( Also, if I remember correctly, it also meant "mediocre" which I didn't really like. My husband's grandmother was Mildred which is what made me start to love Millie/y but it just didn't work out for us.

My sister is an Emily born in 1991. There were so many Emilys her age that she had one friend Emily that went by Milly and one who went by Remi.

Yeah Millicent is too close to Maleficent (the villainess of Sleeping Beauty) for me too.
