Not pregnant, but recently went through a change in the type of names I like. I used to be totally traditional, and loved Emily and Caroline for girls, but my mind switched recently. Sooo...

Gentry. I've only heard it a few times - twice on girls, and once in a song where it's a guy. What do you all think? I like it for a girl, and I think I'd use Beth as a middle name.

I also randomly started liking Harlow and Rowan for girls...

Boy names I am not nearly as daring with, and am pretty much set that if I have a boy, his name will be William, but my middle name ideas flop around.

I love Harlow, I think it's really elegant :)

I don't like Gentry, but I do like the other three :)

all I can think of with Gentry is Montgomery Gentry... and well don't see it on a girl, and Gentry Beth does not flow... Like Harlow, it's my cats name, and Rowan is adorable.

Gentry is, well, terrible, in my opinion.

I can tolerate Harlow, but it's definitely not my style.

Rowan I see as a boy's name.

William is great.

I like Rowan and William a lot. Harlow is ok but not really my style. I think Gentry is awful, sorry! To me it's not a first name at all - it's a surname or a word for the aristocracy .

I've got a Rowan, and it's really a boys name. It drives me insane to see it on girls!

Gentry makes me think of the word, which means high class, which seems very pretentious. Then it also seems like the name Jen trying too hard. And I don't like the sound of it at all. I like Harlow, it's a guilty pleasure. Rowan seems like it should stay a boys name, but I've met some Rowenas that go by Rowen and I guess it's ok. Row is a cute nn IMO. Emily and Caroline are better... William is nice.

Harlow and Rowan are both on my list! I'm leaning more towards using Rowan as a boy's name though. I like Gentry the more I look at it, but she might get a lot of questions asked about her name so I'd be prepared for that.

I feel like I've commented to you before with a similar comment, but Gentry made me think of Montgomery Gentry too.

Love Rowan and Harlow!! Its strange, but I found myself kind of liking Gentry the other day. Its kind of a fresh take on Jen/Jenny and I like girlish nn on boys so it works either way for me.
