Ephram was my great grandfather's name. His wife was Annie. He went by Eph and when I was a kid, I thought his name was Orph and everyone was saying Orph n' Annie. Orphan Annie.

Not quite the same, but I had issues with my my grandparent's names too. They were never called grandma/grandpa, but Alva Ray and Lovey. I thought it was Alvie-Ray and did quite grasp Lovey.
