Some of you may have seen this before, but I stumbled upon an article on nameberry regarding different spellings of names.

Name Spellings: Right and Wright

edit: I had the names in question in a poll format, however, I did something wrong with the security and wouldn't even allow me to see the results.

I've never been able to get polls to show me the results without voting (or getting someone else to vote for me) on it first. :\

I think the Sarah/Sara thing is different in different countries. I understand that in the US they are pronounced the same, but here in the UK they are different names: Sarah is pronounced SAIR-uh (first syllable to rhyme with air, care, dare etc) and Sara is pronounced SAH-ruh (first syllable to rhyme with car, bar etc). I do know one Sara who pronounces her name like Sarah, but she is VERY much the exception and she has to correct everybody.

As a Sara, I agree.

I am surprised to see that they consider Sean a girl's name.

Personally, I do not consider Leila and Layla to be the same name. To me Leila is pronounced LEE-la and Layla is pronounced LAY-la.
