After months of arguing about heritage and names, my brother Jim and his wife Trista welcomed Lilianna Sarnai Passich, five pounds and healthy although two weeks early. Lilianna is a reference to our great-grandmother Lilian and Sarnai is a reference to Trista's grandmother, who recently died. (It's Mongolian for 'rose'.)
