What could Elle be a nn for? I love the name but I can't stand the thought of naming my child after a French pronoun (especially because I'm French.)

There are probably about 100 or more names that end in -elle (examples (http://www.behindthename.com/php/extra.php?terms=elle&extra=h&gender=f)), that Elle could be a nickname for. And really, any name that starts with L- (here (http://www.behindthename.com/nm/l_f.php)) or El- (towards the bottom here (http://www.behindthename.com/nm/e_f.php)) is fair game too, as far as I'm concerned.

I think it would be difficult for Americans to pronounce Elena ELLE-en-nah (though it makes sense to me), so an alternative could be Helena, nn Elle.

Actually I'm a French Canadian who can't pronounce my "H's" properly so I would pronounce Elena, Elle-en-ah. :)
