My name is "Chastity". It means my mom wanted me to be a stripper when I grew up. No, I don't like it because it makes me sound like a stripper. I go by my middle name.

my name is ashley, i think it means like ash tree or something dumb like that. idc if my name has a meaning or whatever but i don't like it because it's SO common. it doesn't feel like my mom put any thought into my name. it could be worse though.

Amanda. it means: "deserving of great love". i kno it's very common, especially if you were a girl born in the 80s like me lol. and most of the time if your name is Amanda, you're stereotyped into being a bitch, but really i'm a nice girl :) i was named after my mamaw Mandy so yeah, i love my name (i prefer to go by my middle name Katherine tho which means "pure", but it's cool bc it's also my mamaw's middle name, so it keeps it's sentimental value)

I was named after my aunt who's name is Kim. To make it less confusing at holidays, they named me Kimberly. The only people that actually call me Kimberly are people on my dads side, who I don't see very often, or my mom when she is really mad.

I can't stand my name. Growing up it was always "Kimmie Gibbler" crap. I have grown to accept it.

My name is Tiffany Annette. I used to hate my middle name because my siblings always teased me saying they had to go fishing with "a net." It's starting to grow on me though. I don't mind my first name. It isn't too terribly common where I'm from. My parents had to come up with it fast though because the whole pregnancy they thought I was a boy. My name was supposed to be Brian Anthony.

Stephanie Marie. I asked both my parents separately why they chose that name, to which they each replied, "We just liked the sound of it." I'm not a fan of Stephanie. I think it's clunky and ugly. I like being called Steph, though. I know Marie is dismissed as a filler name by a lot of people here, but I think it's pretty and I love it.

Jeslynn Grace. Jeslynn supposedly (according to my Mom, I dunno) means Grace too, so it's "grace upon grace" which I love.

Jeannette Victoria- Jeannette means something along the lines of Gods gift I believe? I've always liked my name, despite it never being spelled right by anyone. I've always gotten a wide variety of nicknames. Named after my mom's friend Jeannie and her grandmother Jean. I've never really been fond of my middle name though.

I have a brother, Matthew Jordan. Don't know that he was named after anyone!

My name is Samantha Jade. I go by Sam in pretty much all situations; I've always been Sam, sometimes Sammy. My parents both liked Samantha/Sam but weren't sure on a middle name until my eldest sister suggested Jade. I love my name. :)
If I were a boy I'd be Trent or Jake.

My siblings are Tanya Louise (Tani, prn. Tah-nee), Joshua Mark (Josh), and Natasha Marie (Tash). Again, they were just names my parents liked, although 'Mark' was sort of after my dad's best friend/our Godfather.

My parents are Philip Malcom (only one L due to birth cirt. spelling mishap!) and Rosanne (my mum is the only one in her family without a middle name; she's been a bit sore about it :p).

I'm Mette Beate, and I was named after two people. Got Mette from my mom's friend who passed away a year or two before I was born and Beate from my mom's great aunt or something.

My name is Lauren Marie. My mom had a good friend named Laura, and if I recall, she thought it was pretty and Lauren sounded like a more updated version. One of my grandmothers is Rosemarie. That was taken into account but I don't think my middle name is for her, strictly speaking, just as Lauren isn't really to honor her friend Laura. They were just inspiration. At least, that's my understanding. *shrugs*

I don't like my name. Marie is pretty enough, but it is so common. Lauren was 14th the year I was born so it's common too, but I also just don't like it. I'm not sure it suits me, but I don't know what does instead. I can't be bothered to change it anyway.

My brothers are Clinton Kevin (Kevin is our dad's name) and Eric Clayton. Clint and Eric are just names they liked. Eric got his middle name because Clint wanted him to be named something tough and boyish sounding. I think he had recently met someone named Clay and dirt = manly. I don't care for their names either. I know Eric doesn't like his middle. Actually, Clint doesn't like Clayton either now.

My name is Jennifer Rose-Anne. I was named after my maternal grandmother [Jenny] and my mother [Joanne]. My mom wanted to name me after herself but she didn't like Jennifer Joanne so she kept the -anne and apparently the 'Rose' just fit.

My brother's name is Jason Peter Gerritt (family tradition to give the boy a name, then middle names after father and paternal grandfather)

I never liked my name, too many Jennifer's, hated having my last initial attached to my first name. When i hit high school, where i would be around [pretty much all new people, I decided to go by Jena- which i introduce myself as now, but all my family still calls me Jen or Jennifer.

Jennifer means 'white wave' which is ok I guess. Jena means 'samll bird' or 'with song'. Since I hate birds and love music, i like the latter better.

My name is Melissa Elena (b. 1988). Melissa after the Allman Bros Band song, Elena after my father's mother, who introduced my parents. I really like my name, although people always want to give me nicknames. I dislike nicknames generally, but I really HATE the standards for Melissa: Mel & Missy.

My sister's name is Emily Ann (b. 1991). Ann is my mom's name, and her father's sisters were named Emily and Ann but she didn't know until my sister was about 15 (Mom always called them Tauntie Nenna and Tauntie Teen, idk which was which).

My name is Angela. I'm not named after anyone, though my middle name is the same as my mom's. I'm pretty happy with it - there's really no reasonable way to misspell or mispronounce it (people *do* sometimes - Anglea for example - but it's rare), and it's not super common to the point that I know 10 Angelas, but certainly not unuaual.

I really, really hate the nickname Angie, though, and for some reason a lot of older guys want to call me Angie.

My name is Mary. My parents wanted biblical names and that's a big one there! haha. I don't care for the meaning "from the sea of bitterness". Middle name is Frances, after my grandmother on my mom's side. I didn't appreciate it for a long time esp. when my sister would refer to me as "Sister Mary Frances" like I was a nun.

My brother's name is Andrew Eugene (Eugene after my mom's dad) and my sister is Rachel Ann (they just liked the sound of the name I guess)

My name is Leslie Ellen.

Leslie is for two people. If I ask my dad he says I was named for a girl my dad had a crush on in college who was also Leslie. I guess she was his first real friend and he liked the name.

If I ask my mom she says its for my Grandma Lee (full name Lieselotte) who died a few months before I was born. My aunt Lisa (Lee's daughter) was also named for her. We all sometimes go by Lee, although more often I am Leslie or Les/Lez.

Ellen is just a name they felt fit well with Leslie and my last name. No meaning.

My brother is Andrew David.

I think my dad chose my first name and my mom chose my middle, and then the opposite happened for my brother.

Andrew is a name my mom always liked, but isn't after anyone or for a specific reason. "It just sounded nice." My dad wanted to name him Andrew Ian but our last name starts with R and he was afraid of the initials AIR and being called an airhead, so decided last minute to go with my moms first choice middle name of David.
