Our last name is very British... Very famously and royally British, and so my sister informed me that we are not allowed to use Charles or William because it would just be too much. :) Charles was on our list for a while, but has been cut anyhow. I like William, but my husband doesn't.

It gave me the idea of looking for the line of succession in Belgium too, but I couldn't find more than 15 names, that are those of the children and grandchildren of King Albert II and Queen Paola. I wonder if there are other people in the line after them or not. Anyway, here are the names:

I like how Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde, as well as Prince Laurent and Princess Claire, gave their children very normal names (Princess Astrid's children's names are much less normal in a French speaking family but that's obviously because her husband Prince Lorenz is of Austrian origin). Only the eldest daughters, Élisabeth and Louise, have "typically royal names" that may sound too old-fashioned for little girls. And interestingly, Nicolas and Aymeric are twins, so their order in the line must be a matter of minutes.

It's highly likely that I'll use Catherine Elizabeth or Elizabeth Catherine for a girl, after my mother. I'm wondering how popular that name is going to get in the years to come. I suppose Diana didn't get extra popular after Princess Di.
