Jul. 29th, 2006 06:23 pmAt my job yesterday, I was looking through a bunch of envelopes/addresses of some college graduates--most of them elderly. And I found some interesting old-fashioned (sort of) names I've never heard before, and thought I would share, and see what you think.
Zoetta
Loa
Elverne
Lanora (I've seen Leonora and Lenora, but never Lanora)
Colborn
Britta
Verna
Lynford
Edice
Jolane
Joretta
Then, I also saw a woman, whose first and last name is: Chick Beach. I almost cracked up laughing at work when I first saw that.
I also remembered a boy that I went to school with, though he was younger than me, that is named Coleman. I thought that was kind of strange (it sounds more like a last name to me), but it was #613 last year according to the Social Security Online website. I wondered if maybe his mom's maiden name was Coleman or something and that's why he was named that.
Anyhow, just thought I would share.

Date: 2006-07-29 10:49 pm (UTC)I also love the name Coleman. But then, I have a thing for last names used as first names for boys. Except for the fact that it now reminds me of Gary Coleman. ;)
