What do you think of the name Velkoria?

It's not a 'real' name but a combined name that I had in my first published story (obviously a big deal to me). It does mean a lot to me (check my lj name) and well... lately it's been in my head. It's the combination of two spanish words. Would I be a horrible mother for naming my child this?

I think it sounds and looks awful, but if it means a lot to you, I would use it as a middle name.

For some reason, when I see it it reminds me of the nn Vika, which I like because it was the heroine in the hilarious City of Thieves.
When I say the whole thing however, I dislike how much it sounds like Velcro. So for me, it's a tossup.

But if it means a lot to you, that is what is important!

It does sound like it came from a fantasy novel. I don't hate it, but I agree that it would work better as a middle name.

I think it's perfect middle name material! First name would not be to my taste at all, but still, it wouldn't be awful. It looks like it could possibly be a legitimate name...

This! I don't like it personally, and I think as a first name it might be a little too WTF for the general public, but some people don't care about that. I've known some people who've named their kids all fantasy-inspired made-up names, so if it's really your thing, go for it, though be prepared for the possibility she might hate it (though she also might love it, you never know!)
