An update on the Gideon post from the other day.



For those who may be interested in which of the middle name were my father's name, his friends, and lastly the name not connected to anyone. The answers are....

Richard = My father
Christopher & Joshua = His friends
James = Nothing

The reason I decided not include the relationships is because I didn't want anyone to be potentially influenced when answering the poll :-D

Knowing who was who does that effect your answer? And if you didn't answer the original question, which do you think is a better middle for Gideon __ Hicks?

However I decided to veto both James and Joshua. For a few reasons one being because I find G.J.H to sound horrible as initials! LOL.

I still like Gideon Christopher the best but Richard sounds good too.

Well, you've eliminated down to the two I couldn't decide between! However, knowing the relationships, I would now probably say Gideon Richard, as close family takes precedence over close friends in most cases.

While I think Gideon Christopher flows better than Gideon Richard, I think that naming after your father is better than naming after a friend. And it's not like Gideon Richard is hideous or anything - if your dad had some awful freakish name I might say to honor him in some other way. ;)
