someone i know from high school has a daughter named Ryelah, it's not a terrible name after you say it a few 20 times, and pretend like she's never going to grow up. but now she's pregnant with another girl, whom she plans to name Rozella, i didn't know whether to puke in my mouth or cry for the poor child.

Ryla would be kind of cute. Rosella would also be cute. The spellings are pretty bad though.

Made up name, which bothers me anyway, and sounds too childlike for my comfort, but I think a different spelling would have done wonders - Rila, Ryla, Raila. Something that could work on an adult who wishes to be taken seriously from time to time.

Now, Rozella. There's no saving that. What's wrong with Rose, Rosemary, Rosalind?

roselle is one of my favorite names, so i'm not too bothered by rozella (although i think rosella looks a lot better).

i read ryelah as ry-LEE-uh at first, and i think i like that pronunciation better.

I like Rozella better than Ryelah, at least it's obvious how you pronounce Rozella...Rosella would be prettier, but eh. She could still go by Rose if she wants a more classic name. I don't know what poor Ryelah could go by...
