babynames1. What are some possible nicknames for Clementine?
2. Would it be silly to name my baby girl Tatum, when our dog's name is Tater? I know it will drive the dog crazy (which I'm not too concerned about), but does this just seem weird to anyone else to have a name so similar to the family pet?

I wouldn't want it to seem like I named the baby after the dog or something. Plus maybe it's that I like Clementine so much more than Tatum (precisely because Tatum makes me think "tater")

Date: 2011-04-12 02:56 am (UTC)2) Yeah, I think it would be quite silly. For one thing, there'll definitely be jokes from people who know you well enough to know the dog's name. "Oh yeah, Tatum, you were named after the dog." Then there's the whole issue of when the dog dies. I know it's morbid and terrible of me to say this but... When my dog died, it was hard for me to even think her name. Calling out something similar might make it hard for you or for her to grieve properly.
