I have noticed a trend recently among facebook friends.  There have been several baby girls named McKinley.  The spelling varies from McKinley, to McKinli to MacKenleigh to McKinlee. 

Thoughts?

I loathe the name McKinley. (Although "McKinli" is even worse!) It is such a huge trend right now. I find it unfeminine and unflattering, it just sounds ugly. Besides, why would you want to name your daughter after a president who was assassinated?

I also hate the nicknames associated with it, Kinnie, Kinlee, Kin, etc. I think it is even worse than McKenzie and McKenna.

I do not like it either. The only way I think it looks fine spelling wise is McKinley (probably because that is the one I am used to, due to the president). It really just isn't pretty at all.

I'm with the majority... I'm not lovin' it when it comes to McKinley. but I do like the nn Kenny for a girl... just not if it's a result of being named McKinley :(

I grew up in a town where McKinley is a prominent last name, so I can't even think of it as a first name for anybody. So weird.
