He looks a lot like my friend's new puppy. They were going to name him Zeus but that it would sound funny if they were calling for him in a dog park (Hey, Zeus! = Jesus)

His name ended up being Iggy.

AWE! My husband grew up with collies and we plan on getting one soon.

I like Beau or Beauregard for a male doggy. I also like Duncan, Montgomery (Monty), Augustus (Gus or Auggie) and Theodore (Teddy). But I like ~sophisticated~ human names for pets.

I had a cat name Meow. It was indeed a lot of fun to say "Meow! Meow! Come here! Meow!

My friend's dog is named D.O.G and it's pronounced Dee-oh-gee, so you have no idea what it actually is (or at least I didn't) until he spells it out.
