I just made a post about Molly vs. Mallory. We have eliminated Mallory, but are still unsure about Molly. So, here is another vote. One is a name *I* like, the other is one my hubby likes. If it helps at all, Im having a baby in about a month, and our other daughter is Amelia Rowan.

So...vote between:

Molly or Tegan/Teagan??

I like Molly a lot, but DH is just not sold for some reason. He thinks it is too common, but Ive only ever known ONE.

I think I've only ever known one or two. And I've worked around small children for the last 4 years, and I've ever come across one. It might differ based on your area, but I don't think it's all that common of a name.

Molly was only #99 in 2009, so definitely a small percentage of babies are named Molly.

I live in Alabama, and I even have it figured that there might be ONE per county in my state (if you divide the total amount of mollys born per state, then per county for my state)...so it wouldn't be THAT common.

I guess he is just more worried, we didn't check on this stuff with our other daughter and Amelia has turned out to be way more popular than we thought it was.

I love both names, but in this case, I think Molly sounds SO good with Amelia! If your hubby is worried about it being too common, I work childcare and I found that Teagan is more common of a girls name than Molly right now!

Molly, absolutely. I think of Molly as a nice, real name. I think of Tegan as trendy and awful, in the same class as Jaydyn and MacKenzee. I can't picture an adult with the name Tegan.

I have a niece in law named teagan, it's getting pretty popular, right there with reagan and I have to say, I HATE both. Those have to be some of the worst girl names on earth and I will never understand why anyone would use them. I cringe saying the name.

Molly is old fashioned, I am yet to ever meet a molly and I think it would be adorable on a little girl:) it also pairs well with Amelia, and btw, I have two girls, amelia and esme, so I think I like your naming style ;)

LOL I'm the same way about Teagan/Tegan and Reagan. I think I particularly hate Reagan even more but UH it's SO ugly in my opinion.

Yea, Reagan is worse because it's the name of a MALE president, I still don't care for the name, but it'd be at least remotely better on a boy. And then Teagan feels like a poor attempt at making a terrible and masculine name a bit more feminine.

Molly!! Such a lovely name :) Teagan is kind of blah and trendy, it'd just blend it with all the Logans and Regans and whatnot. I don't think Molly is a terribly common name, it might not be rare but it doesn't have that "overdone" feel like some names do. Plus, Molly sounds much nicer with Amelia Rowan! If your husband really doesn't like Molly, maybe Maisie, Minnie, or Moira would appeal to you two?

The only one I've ever met was when I was working at a day camp with 3-5 year olds and there was this adorable girl with pigtailed ringlets and her name was Mollie. She was such a sweet kid too. It scares me now though because she was just barely out of diapers when I met her, and right now she's a teenager!

Molly. Sweet, comfortable, classic. I don't hate Tegan/Teagan, but the spelling confusion is a mark against it, and it just doesn't have the sweetness of Molly, to me. Molly is a better match for Amelia, too.

I think of the band Tegan and Sara whenever I hear the name Tegan, which isn't a bad thing... but I like Molly a lot more! Molly can span the lifetime, whereas I picture Tegan as a teenager or young adult. Plus I think Molly is a prettier name in general!
