[identity profile] zombiemombie.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My husband and I are expecting our second child, a boy, due May 1st. Our daughter is 15 months old. Her name is Aida (just becuase we liked it) Samantha Jane (after me, my real name is Samantha Anita Maria, but my Mom would always call me Samantha Jane so the Jane part is kind of a tribute to my Mom as well.).

So, in the spirit of matching names, we were set on naming this little guy Harvey Emery Dean. Harvey just because we like it, Emery after my husband and Dean is my Dad's middle name.

However, pretty much since the day I met my hubby he has talked about naming his son after him. Which I'm pretty okay with in the sense that I like the name Emery, it fits all my criteria for name-liking and sounds good with my daughters name (Aida). The part that I don't like is the idea of calling him Big Emery/Little Emery or something to that effect his entire life.. I definitely don't want him to have the exact same name as his Dad, but using the first name the same would be fine, if I can swing it. My brother-in-law's name is Emanuel Jacob and he goes by E.j. So naming my son Emery Jr. and calling him a cute nickname like E.j. won't work because that's already in use in the immediate family.

Can you help me come up with something where we could name my son Emery but also have a nickname for him? I thought Emery Jr. could be M.j. but I think thats kinda pushing it, if you know what I mean? I don't know.

The only requirements in this "game" are that the first name needs to be Emery, and he needs to have two middle names. Our last name is Rodriguez so if that can play into the nickname somehow that would be fine.

Thanks! I hope this made sense,.. lol :)
