I LOVE Lachlan... but I'm Australian. :P

I like it, but not enough to use it. I like the sound of it, but for some reason the spelling totally rubs me the wrong way.

I knew one Lachlan (who was a teenager) and I think it's an awesome name! (I'm from the US).

I'm from the US. I used to quite like it back in high school, but it's kind of lost its shine for me. Still, it's not a bad name and I'd probably think it was pretty cool if someone else used it.

I'm from the west coast of the US. I hate it. The sound of it just really grates on me.

My SO and I love the name, personally. Second boy has a strong chance of ending up with it. : )

I think it's pretty neat; not sure if it's quite my style, but I think it has a nice sound (I'm from the U.S.)

It sounds like a short version of the a last name I've heard quite a bit in the US: McLaughlin (without the MC of course) to me which I don't really like the association.

I like the sound of the name but I don't see it often. Or rather, ever. So it may just be that, but when it's written out it looks very strange to me. Of course, if that had been the name I had chosen I wouldn't let that stop me. :-P

I love Lachlan. I love the fact that it isn't very common in the US, but it also has a very good chance of being pronounced correctly in Germany (my homeland.) So overall appealing to me.

I'm pretty indifferent to it, I think. I've never really considered it either way; I would never choose to use it, but if I was with somebody who really wanted to, I wouldn't protest.

I'm from the US, for what it's worth. When I hear Lachlan, I think of Laughlin, a city in Nevada. It's not a name I would use.

It's a last name, and an uncommon one at that. I've never seen it as a first name. It strikes me as something you'd expect to see on a soap opera.

I'm Canadian. I love it. I'm really into irish/scotish sounding boys names.

Love it! It's our top contender for a 2nd boy's name. His nn would be Lucky.

Not a fan. My first thought is the Loch Ness Monster.

But my second thought is Lancelot, so that mitigates the bad a little bit.

Ah! I'm America, by the way. It's definitely not something I would ever use, but it's not such a horrific name that I wouldn't be able to get over marrying someone with that name, or something.

I'm from North Carolina and I knew a Lachlan in college - female, pronounced Lock-lin.

What strikes me as weird is that about a year and a half ago, the name Lachlan was mentioned a lot in this community. The time sticks in my memory because it was around when my friend named her son Lochlan (the Scottish spelling). To see so many comments here of people never having heard it is strange.

FWIW, I like the name.
