[identity profile] thellamaqueen.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I hope this hasn't been posted already...

I was killing time on Lamebook.com today and ran across this post.  I thought the community might appreciate (or, more likely, be appalled by) it!

For those who don't like to/can't click on links, a mother named Brittany is talking about names for her unborn child.  For a girl, she likes ZaRhianna (pronounced zar-e-ona) Renee, or Xoche' (so-chel-a) Renee.  For a boy, she's considering Zayden Jay or Zavion Ross.

She also adds that she likes Zevidian for a boy and Zehvidia for a girl.

Here's to hoping she has a boy (even though her boy names are still pretty iffy...).

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get the "so-chel-a" pronunciation out of Xoche'.  Maybe it's a typo?

yeah i had to sit there for a long moment and read and re read it until eventually I gave up. I dont get why you'd want a name your kids going to constantly have to pronounce or spell for people.

re: Xoche' the first half of the pronunciation makes sense following the Nahuatl (ancient Aztec/Mexican) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_Spanish#Phonology) alphabet and pronunciations. i have no idea where the "la" at the end comes from.

wowww
Wow.
I'm just glad that if it is a girl, the middle name will be normal so she can go by it when she is old enough to realize how fucked up her first name is.
Same for the boy name, I guess.

Lol, I'm not getting the "so-chel-a" thing either. "So-che" I can see, but where's the "la" coming from?
Anyway.

*sigh* (-_-) I guess the kids can always go by their middle names....
