I came across a girl named Pierce today at work, about 19 yrs old.  I always associate this name with males, but is it another "Ryan"?

What do you think - can Pierce work on a female?

No. It's one of those SUPER masculine sounding/looking names to me, that I definitely cannot see on a female.

Pierce is definitely male for me.

I do think it works. In fact I was really pushing for a gender neutral/boy name for a girl this pregnancy but my fiancé would have no parts of it.

I don't like it. Like Reed (which I've also seen on a girl, ugh), I think it's too masculine.

No way. I do love Pierce for a male though!

I don't think Ryan works on females either.

Far too masculine and I really dislike this name anyway. A friend of mine named her son Pierce, and every time she says his name it sounds so harsh. :(

No.
I don't see Ryan as a neutral name either.
