I don't mind Reed for a girl. Reid is still strictly male in my mind but the Reed spelling seems sort of like Sage or Rowan, can go both ways.

I love Reed as a boy's name and would definitely consider using it except it goes horribly with our last name that begins with D. I don't think it sounds like a girl's name at all.

I also like it better as a girls' name, but as someone mentioned above, primarily with that spelling. As Reid, it strikes me as more masculine.

I gotta say, I love it!! Sure, it's unusual, but something about it just makes me like it. I'm having a girl and I've considered it, but i know my husband would really like it.. But I do like it.
