[identity profile] danne-gerous.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Normally, I'm pretty good at coming up with name combinations that I like.  But now that it's my own name, I'm having some trouble.  I made a post about changing my surname, and I'm still coming up with ideas for that one, but now I've decided to change my first name as well.  My father chose my first name and my mother chose my middle name, so I'm just going to change my first name to my middle name.  Only now I'm having trouble coming up with a new middle name.  Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What middle names do you think would go well paired with Danne? (It's pronounced like a person from Denmark, a Dane.)

Also, renaming myself is proving to be highly therapeutic and freeing.  I definitely recommend it for people in similar situations to mine.

Do you pronounce Danne as Dana or Da-nae?

Other possible pronunciations I was considering: Dani or Dane? My middle name suggestions will probably depend on the pronunciation of Danne. Regardless, I think something 3 syllables will flow well...what kind of names do you like?

I think longer names will flow best. And something traditional and elegant since it sounds so similar to Dame.

Danne Elisabeth
Danne Rowena
Danne Alyse/Elise

Maybe look into names that are from your own ethnic background?

Danne Charlotte
Danne Rosemary
Danne Angelina

Sure. My birth name is Krystal. I was always at least the 3rd Krystal in my classes...even at my JOBS! I never every liked my name, the only thing that made me like it was that it's with a "K". So after 22 years of saying "Krystal...with a K!" I decided just to introduce myself as "Kay" and that's what I Have been going by for 2 years now. My old friends still call me Krystal, as does my dad and step mom, but everyone else adjusted quickly. Now I feel so funny calling myself Krystal. "Kay" isn't too far a stretch from Krystal though- it was important to me to still have parts of the name I was given.
