Date: 2010-07-30 02:33 pm (UTC)Dominic, Robert, Peter, Maurice, and Nash are all favorites of mine. I was particularly pleased to see the latter in use.
I was thrown off when looking at the IMDb after the movie and saw that Mal was short for Mallorie. The whole time, I'd been assuming it was Moll, short for Molly (or Mal, short for Mali).

As for the names I like in my favorite movies and TV shows,
I actually like most of the names on the above list, though I'm not sure I'd use most of them because of the fandom correlation (and I would never use Sodapop, because there's no way a real child could pull it off like a character can)
I remember using the name Kitty as a child (probably around 10) in a story I wrote. My sister thought it was a dumb name and uber trendy. She found out when she got older that it's in Pride & Prejudice. (Though when it showed up in Brothers & Sisters, I could say, "See, I didn't make it up.")
I love the name Balthazar (with a nickname of Balty), but can't imagine it on anyone but Balthazar Getty. If I were to use it, it would probably be for a pet.
