of the name Argiris? One of the actors on the show degrassi is named Argiris in real life and I just thought it was kind of odd. I still cant really pronounce it lol.

Also, I am trying to think of boys names that I like. So far I have Cooper, Ishmael, and Riley. What do u all think of Ishmael? My mom said no one uses it anymore lol. I love it.

How DO you pronounce it?
I first though Ar-JEER-is, but then I thought Ar-GEER-is vs. AR-gir-is vs. ar-jir-EES vs a million other pronunciations.

So yeah, I don't like a name that I can't figure out how to pronounce. I guess I could google it...

I don't like Ishmael, but I don't hate it either. I think the Ish part sounds weird.

Oh, and I love Degrassi.

I'm not sure how it's pronounced, but I'm pretty sure I don't like it. ^^

Ishmael is the only name there that I do like, though I prefer the spelling Ismael. As far as no one using names any more, I wouldn't trust your mom since she likely isn't in the know. People her age probably think names like Rose and Grace are outdated.

The hottest guy on my entire college campus was named Ishmael. So yeah, hm, I think it's a great name! ;) Argiris I have no idea how to pronounce, and Riley and Cooper are really trendy which isn't my style. Not bad names though.

I don't hate it (by it, I mean Argiris). I pronounce it are-gear-iss; whether that's right or not, I don't know, but I think it's almost nice that way.

I hate Ishmael.

I like Cooper and Riley. Ishmael just reminds me of Moby-Dick. The narrator's name was Ishmael, and he was so depressed/depressing I can't seriously consider that for a kid's name... maybe a pet or something.

Cooper and Riley are ok I guess but the last name as first name thing was never my style. I really dislike Ishmael, even though I enjoyed Moby Dick, it's still a yucky name to me.

My first assumption was that Argiris was pronounced "ARR-gerr-iss," but I guess I was wrong. I still don't like it; it sounds more like the name of a boat or space ship. Cooper and Riley are a bit too trendy for me, but Ishmael is nice.
