One of my favourite shows when I was a kid was "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman". It occurred to me today that so many of the characters have names that I really love. What do you think? Bolding my favourites.

Michaela, in particular, has really become one of my favourite names, but I don't love the nickname Mike. What other nicknames can you think of?

Also: I'm trying to come up with a bunch of names that contain meanings related to different emotions. I have quite a few that mean happy/joyful/etc., but (not surprisingly) there aren't a lot with negative meanings (sad/angry/afraid/lonely/jealous/etc). Can you think of any? Or maybe names that sound like these words in other languages?

I think there are quite a few names with negative meanings, but the name sources tend to whitewash them.

You could start with Jacob.

I don't like Horace either, but I dislike it largely *because* of this show hehe.

I like Kay/Kayla, but I'm not fond of them as nicknames for Michaela because it makes me think of the trendier spellings of the name ... I suppose you could spell it Chaela, but that looks kind of odd.

Mick, though ... I like that, somehow, and I didn't expect to. Thanks!

I think a lot of it went over my head, especially because I only really remember watching it when I was like 7. I have since seen most of the show, but the only episode I actually remember from when I was a kid was this one where Brian fell or hit his head or something, and was blind until Michaela operated on him.
