[identity profile] bekahbaby.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I just responded to a post about the name Reese, but thought I'd make a separate post in case my comment isn't seen.

The associate at my work just had a baby girl in February. They named her Reese Jennifer. They chose the name Reese because they've heard other little girls with that name and like it. They chose Jennifer because the associate's sister's name is Jennifer and they wanted to honor her.

Personally, I don't like the combination Reese Jennifer. It doesn't flow well together. I also don't like either of those names. Reese just reminds me of the candy Reese's Pieces.

What are your thoughts?

I like the name Reese if it is on a boy and it's spelt Rhys. Otherwise, yuck.

Jennifer Reese flows much better. However, I am not a fan of Jennifer... being that I am one and have been plagued with sharing my name with 2395734975439 million other people my entire life. haha.

I reeeally don't like the name Jennifer... I don't know why but it always makes me think of like some slutty kind of girl... I also reeeeeally don't like the nick name Jenny.

Reese hmm I'm lukewarm on it, it's whatever to me. I like Rhys on a boy though!

I like it, actually. But, I prefer Reese spelled Rhys and on a boy.

ETA: My son's name is Rhys. When he was born, my BIL brought him a package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. We have a picture of Rhys, about 12 hours old, with a bright orange PBC package clasped in his hand.

I know a baby girl Reese too. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. I prefer it on a boy, spelled Rhys, as other posters mentioned. In fact I'd consider Rhys for a boy if our last name wasn't Reece. Rhys Reece might be a bit much...though honestly it is not far from my husband's name! I don't know what his parents were thinking.

I don't really like it, but I don't hate it either. I don't think Reese Jennifer is that bad of a combination.

My family has a branch with the last name Rees, and one of my cousins (m) was given the name Rees since it was his mothers maiden name. I don't like it spelled Reece, Reese, Rhys, or Rees.

I prefer Rhys on a boy. But my friend named her daughter Sarah Reese and I love it for their little girl, it's perfect.

Jennifer Reese would have been better, but I don't like the combo either way. I don't care for Reese, however it's spelled (it sounds like a high-pitched screech or something, haha,...idk), and I hate the name Jennifer.

meh, it's rather colourless but will wear reasonably well.
