Apparently, now that the Fifa World Cup is taking place in South Africa, parents are naming their babies things like Fifa and Soccer City!

Haha I'm South African(we live in Canada) and I think that's hilarious. My mom loved all those names while she was living there(she was an exchange student) and she considered a bunch of names like that for me before picking a family name from her Canadian side. But yeah, I could've been Pride, India, Savannah, Kruger, Patience, Soleil(because they went to Sun City on their honeymoon), or any number of other names she's mentioned considering for me. I think she was really pulling for Savannah and India, but my dad who is actually the born and raised Afrikaaner was just not having it :P

At the end of apartheid a lot of kids were named freedom (not in English - this trend is mostly in non-English communities). In Xhosa this is Nkululeka (pronounced in-koo-loo-leh-ka) - quite a nice name IMHO. =)
