What do you think of the name Misha for a boy? Pronounced: Mee-sha

(Please forget about any celebrities when answering. Just the name, in and of itself.)

I actually like it, I think it sounds super sweet.

x2, still seems very feminine to me.

My BIL is nicknamed Pasha, kind of similar..? Maybe?

Even though (i think?) I know it is traditionally a boy's name, it sounds too feminine to my ears.

By itself it sounds a little feminine but I think it would depend on the last name. If you had a Eastern European last name I would think boy but if your last name is Smith I would think girl. Hope that makes sense.

until recently, i've only heard it as a boy's name, so i think it sounds perfectly fine.

yeah it's definitely a girls name to me. even if i had never heard of the actress, if i saw that on paper i would immediately assume female.

Only like it spelled Mischa, really. And on a boy or man.

My cousins had a female dog named Misha. That's what always comes to my mind when I hear the name. Definitely feminine to me.

Agreed. I feel the same way about Sascha.. can only imagine it on a boy. It helps that I dated a Russian guy for a while. : )

Misha/Mischa is a nickname for me (for Michael/Mikhail). It sounds masculine to me though; I view it as a male name.

I like it, but spelled Mischa.

I was going to say it's too feminine, but spelled that way it looks like a guy's name:)

I also think this is a good male spelling.

I love the sound of it when I say it :) I toyed with the idea of using it as a nickname for Hamish, a name that I adore. But the OC association would be made immediately with my friend group.

It's a nickname. It's a fantastic nickname, but it's a nickname.

I like it, either spelling.
It reminds me of Sasha, which is a name I've always liked. =)

I prefer it spelt Mischa, and view it the same way as Sascha: as a male name. (Although I do agree it is more nickname material.)

It's definitely male to me. I like the Mischa spelling better, but Misha works too!

The a on the end make it seem like a female name to me.

Also... it's hard to forget about something when that's your only association with it.

I used to work with a Mischa. After seeing the name, I was surprised that not only was he a guy, but also had parents from China/Korea (I forget which one). I don't think I would use it, but I think it's kind of cool.

I love it. I love the "sha" ending, Sasha is one of my favorite boy's names. All the people saying its too feminine are making me sad, I DEFINITELY don't agree. Its perfect for a boy!

There is an actor on Supernatural with the name Misha Collins. I thought it was kind of odd at first, but it starts to grow on you and found that I liked it for a boy.
