I saw this video of this one-year-old girl who can snowboard, her name is Ava Marie Merritt. Tried Googling her - and got Ave Maria instead, then realized the connection to the name. What do you think?

I think Ava and Marie are both too common to get an OMG when an Ava Marie spells out her whole name. You're right though; when you really think about it, it IS very close to Ave Maria.

I had never thought about it because well... the name Ava (variant of Eve that means to breathe, or to live) kind of has nothing to do with the meaning of the word ave (hail). I guess it could be close in pronunciation but even then... no, not really.

It was basically the first thing I thought when I saw Ava Marie. I don't like Ava or Marie, they're both far too extremely plain and popular for my taste, and I don't think everyone will get the Ave Maria connection.

I instantly thought of Ave Maria as well. Not sure what I think about it, but I'm not fond of Ava or Marie
