[identity profile] pegasus2o5.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Three small children I encountered today at the library, all from different families: Jack (3ish), Julia (6ish), and Moxon (7ish). Jack and Julia I like, though Jack is so common these days that I'd never use it. Moxon's mother mostly call him Mox. (And I did see it written, so there's no misunderstanding!) I guess the name has moxie (pun intended) but it's definitely not my style. Plus, Moxon is awfully close to Moron.

Moxon sounds like something I'd use to clean my bathroom tiles.

My great grandfather was named Moxley. I have to say, Moxon makes me like Moxley more lol.

And after googling the name I still think that's the most likely and horrific reason for this child's name. Whomp whomp for him.

Or Mormon. Or Moxie.

That's pretty unfortunate :(

I've never seen it either but I googled it and saw it's the main character's last name.

In the movie Varsity Blues there is a player with the last name Moxon, but he goes by Mox.

Moxon sounds like a prescription drug.
