I think I could probably have handled one or the other. Alyx, or Alexx; not my style and wouldn't do it, but not horrible. The Y and two XX's together are just awful.

Bleh! I love the character Alyx in the game Half Life 2, but her name is awful... such a trendy, ditzy name for an ass-kicking character.

I've seen the name Alyx (on a boy, no less!) but this spelling with the extra X looks tacky and contrived.
