WDYT of Judah and Deacon?

They're my favourite boys names, but people tend to be split on them, so What do you guys think?

Im not a fan of Judah.

Deacon, is meh to me. I don't love/like it, but I don't hate/dislike it. Its just a *shrug* name to me.

I am okay with Judah. Deacon is a title. A religious one. So for me (an atheist) it is kind of weird as a name. I wouldn't name my kid a title...to my ears, Deacon belongs with Prince, Baron, Bishop, Cardinal, Vicar, King, Duke, etc. Just kind of odd...Deacon Alexander Lastname makes it sound like Alexander is the real first name and Deacon is the form of address.

Judah is fine, but Deacon sounds like a dog name to me.

This. I actually think both are a bit too churchy for me.

I like Deacon, but Judah isn't my style. Not a terribly bad name though.

I've really started liking Deacon recently. Judah, though, I'm not a fan - I just don't like how it sounds.

Judah yes (though I like Jude even better), Deacon no.

Yes, this is why I don't like Deacon or any of those other names that are actually a title.

I like Judah a lot

Deacon is the name of MANY of my friends' dogs because we went to wake forest university and they're the Demon Deacons and I just can't imagine using it on a person...but that's just personal experience

I love Judah. Not a fan of Deacon.
Interesting that you mention most people are split on these names and all of the above comments seem to reflect that as well.

I love the name Judah. I, like some of the previous commentators, am not religious but in my opinion, it doesn't have that over-the-top biblical feel to it like names like, for instance, Noah or Abraham or Ezekiel.

Deacon is a title, and overtly so. Any middle name attached to it will sound like it's attached to the title, like Deacon Jo, instead of Deacon, mn Jo. Does that make sense? Just my opinion.

I hate Judah; pretty much indifferent to Deacon but it's a celebribaby so it sounds kind of trendy, and I always think Beacon.

Judah is okay. I prefer Jude or Judas, despite the (generally preceived as) negative Biblical reference. Deacon I have sort of a love/hate relationship with. I kind of like the sound of it and it makes me think of John Deacon of Queen, but it IS a title and titles as names has always seemed weird to me.
