What are your thoughts on the name Zane?

It reminds me of Billy Zane. Other than that, I think it's okay.

Personally I think it sounds great if you're writing a Western novel, but is horrible otherwise. However, I realise that that's merely a matter of personal taste rather than an actual objective reason not to use it lol.

I personally dislike it...a lot. I can't pinpoint why. Maybe it is because of Billy Zane. But my mom LOVES it. She says she will call my son Zane, whether that is his name or not. :)

I like Zane. I feel like it has more "zip" than most cowboy names and is capable of being cool in a non-cowboy way. It packs a lot of punch into one syllable. "Zany" never really came to mind.
