[identity profile] theljfromheck.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
A friend of mine is debating how to spell her baby boy's name. She posted either Kevbien or Kevbion and said they're both hyphenated but didn't say where she's putting the hyphen.

I've never seen/heard of either name before. What do you guys think?

ETA
I guess she meant an apostrophe, not hyphen. Either Kevbion' or Kevbien' or maybe with out it.

An apostrophe is even worse, especially thrown on the end there.

That doesn't even make sense. Like, I have no idea how to pronounce that name.

lol at the random apostrophe. It makes absolutely no sense to put an apostrophe at the end of his name.

I'd be less confused (but equally appalled) by the name being Kev'bion/Kev'bien.

With or without the apostrophe, the name is dumb.

Why not just name him Kevin and be done with it?

Even Kevion is better than Kevbien.

Does not compute. She needs to dig deeper into the stack of real names that have the sounds she likes. They are out there. If she doesn't watch out she's going to end up with a kid named Dijonaise, you know?

I just cannot believe there aren't enough real names in the world...

Will no one think of their CVs?

I went to a friend's graduate recital on Friday. His name was projected, and also of course printed on the programs. It mad me think, what if his name was Kevbion' or DaQuarious or something similar, not Derek. Names really do give an impression.

Man.. that is atrocious. It's terrible enough without an apostrophe or hyphen.

Try to reason with her. There are plenty of legitimate names out there that don't make people do this: O____O

I bet she's thinking Kevbi'on or Kev'bion. Both are absolutely atrocious. Why don't they just name him Kevin Jr??
