[identity profile] cremepuff.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Just found out one of my husband's bosses will be a father in a few weeks. He and his wife are expecting a baby girl, to be named:

Mayley

Not my style, but I think think it would be better spelled May Lee or Maile (depending on pronunciation).

Ehhhhk. Is it May + Lee? or is it like Miley? Oh, the issues she will have. If Miley, Maile would be much better since it's actually a name. The sound of May + Lee is kinda cute, and I do love May. But yeah... not so into that.

I assumed this was like Hayley but with an M, am I right?

I think it's HORRID. (Sorry.)

It could be worse. It's cute, but that's the problem: it's most suited for a young girl no older than fifteen (at best). It isn't mature at all, both in spelling and in the way it sounds.

That's not a name I would like to have in professional situations.

Indeed. Mayley is too informal.

It's hard though, when you fall in love with something to even judge what it's really like.

*sigh*

I knew a Mai Le...she was from Laos. Her daughter was named Ly Yen.
