What do you think of hippie nature names such as;

Sunshine
Rain
Sky
Breeze
Canyon
Star
Winter

?

Answering about specific names is fine, but I kinda want to know what you think of them in general, mostly.

I love hippy names; they're just the right balance of uncommon/cool, but then being a word people can still spell & pronounce them right.
Admittedly there are some that seem a bit much so wouldn't use them myself, but overall I can appreciate the sentiment.

i definitely prefer them on females, but there are some that just shouldn't be names imo and that give me childish connotations (such as breeze/breezy)

I think they're silly.

I like them. But then...I named my son Lennon, so of course I would. :P

I like the idea a lot, but it really depends on how it flows with middle/last names...sounding "like a name" is important to me. My husband loves Brook and Gale (for boys), I'm trying to come around to them.

I am a fan generally only for female names. Or as middle names for girls. For boys, I don't have many I like, except Forrest, which is my maiden name, so it might be used on a future son's middle name.

I knew brothers named Canyon and River. They were ok. Definitely nms, but the names seemed to fit their family really well.

About the only nature names I don't like are Raynee, Starr and Sekoya. So basically nature names spelled wrong, haha. Oh, and I don't like Sierra.

I would find it hard to take anybody with (the majority of) hippie nature-y names seriously. So many are just so ridiculous, I don't know what you'd be expecting to have your kid do in life with them. Some do work as middle names, though.

I looove hippie/nature names. I think they're fantastic. However, I think giving a person River or Breeze as an actual first name would cause them unnecessary trouble (e.g.teasing, not being taken seriously etc.). So I think I'd like to use one as a middle name, if at all =).

I think they're cool as middle names, but no so much as first names (I know people with middle names Star, River, and Stone).

Not a fan. They just sound super cheesy to me. Like the person bearing the name would never be taken seriously.

I like a lot of hippie/nature names, although not all the nature names I like are names I would really consider to be hippie names. Some on my list are: [For boys] Heath, Lake, River, Stone, [and for girls] Aura, Aurora, Avalon, Briar, Eden, Haven, Iris, Ivy, Lily, Meadow, Raine, Sage, Skye, and Summer.

My middle name is Lake, and I hated it. I love it now.
All of my siblings have hippie middle names

they are a huge guilty pleasure for me. I love them. obviously not every single one, but in general. I love River, Skye, Meadow, Sunny, Stone, Forrest. I don't like ones that are too out there, which I guess is a personal preference since some people would say any hippie name is too out there. I suppose, excepting the ones I mentioned, I only really like them in theory.

I'm not a huge fan of them, I even dislike names such as "April" and "June". But I must say I wouldn't mind "Skye" or "Rayne" if I could find middle names I like with them.

I guess I'd say that generally I'm not a fan. There are a few flower names I like (Ivy, Linnea, Lily, Bryony), and I do like April, May, and June as names, but overall I can't take a lot of them seriously. I don't mind them so much as middle names, though.

They're pretty much a guilty pleasure for me, my husband would never go for many of them (Rose is as close as he'd get). I like using them for characters and their children.

I general I like them, especially as middle names. On a more limited scale as first names.

I love hippie names. Our favourite girl name is a plant name.
Also love Winter, Skye, and Bracken.
And I have young relatives named Raven and Sage. :)

My uncle was obsessed with Native American culture when my cousins were born. He wanted to name them Whisper, Sunman, and Rainbow. They ended up as Andrea, Michael, and Regina.
