I heard an unusual name the other day at work: Darolyn. Pronounced like Carolyn, but with a D. I had never heard of it.

What do you think?

It's interesting. I don't hate it, but I definitely don't like it either.

I know a middle aged woman named Darolyn pronounced the same way. I'm not sure how it's spelled though. I don't really like it either way.

I don't see how this is different from the Darolyn like Carolyn pronunciation?

I say both as Dare-ah-lynn

when you speak a language that is like Spanish or French where every letter has a sound and they don't tend to overlap... then you can see the difference between Darolyn and Daralyn.

daralyn is pronounced like it looks. dara-lynn. dara like the first name dara, with lynn tacked on the end.
